Samsung expanded its entry-level offerings today by launching the brand new Samsung Galaxy A04 and Samsung Galaxy A04e - smartphones that promise to offer “unmatched performance” within this segment. 

Speaking about the launch, Akshay Rao, General Manager, Mobile Business, said “Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A04e carry forward the A series legacy with segment-leading features like 8GB memory with RAM Plus, high storage of up to 128GB, a massive 5000mAh battery and Face Recognition to unlock your phone. With these awesome features, the new Galaxy A04 and Galaxy A04e smartphones are targeted at consumers looking for smooth multitasking at an affordable price,”.

The following are some of the top features of the two smartphones:

50MP Camera

The Samsung Galaxy A04 comes with a 50MP dual rear camera, which has been described as the “best-in-segment”. The Samsung Galaxy A04e, on the other hand, comes with a 13MP dual camera setup. Both smartphones are equipped with a 5MP front camera for selfies. The camera offers features like a rear depth live focus camera which is said to ensure good quality portraits, along with slo-mo, and panorama features.  

Face recognition

The Samsung Galaxy A04 and Samsung Galaxy A04e are both equipped with Face Recognition software that ensures better security. 

Large display

The Samsung Galaxy A04 and Samsung Galaxy A04e come with a 6.5-inch HD+ Infinity-V display. The display comes with tiny bezels to ensure an immersive experience.  

Huge Battery 

Samsung Galaxy A04 and Samsung Galaxy A04e are equipped with a 5000mAh battery. The smartphones support Adaptive Power Saving mode which switches to power-saving mode based on your usage. Once the battery drops below 50%, the mode puts apps to sleep. The smartphones are also equipped with AI Power Management which sets apps to sleep mode if they have not been used for three days. The apps go into deep sleep if they have not been used in a month.

Quick Performance 

Both smartphones run on a  MediaTek Helio P35 processor. The processor can clock up to 2.3GHz. Samsung Galaxy A04  and Samsung Galaxy A04e offer 8GB RAM (with RAM Plus feature). Both smartphones run the Android 12 full version. 

Samsung Galaxy A04 and Samsung Galaxy A04e price in India

The 3GB + 32GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy A04e is available for ₹9,299, while the 3GB + 64GB variant is available for ₹9,999. The 4GB + 128GB variant is available for ₹11,499. 

The 4GB and 64GB variant of the Samsung Galaxy A04 is priced at ₹11,999 while the 4GB and 128GB version of the smartphone is available for ₹12,999.

2020 iPhone could support time-of-flight 3D sensors: Report

While the 2019 iPhones are yet to be launched, the rumour mill is already churning out predictions for the 2020 iPhones. According to some reports, Apple is expected to release three new iPhones this year. As for 2020, the tech giant could supposedly incorporate time-of-flight (ToF) sensors in the future iPhones. Additionally, Apple might also include 5G connectivity in next year’s iPhone models. Previously, a report speculated that Apple might introduce VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) ToF sensors on the rear of the 2020 iPhone models.
