Poco X5 5G spotted on BIS, FCC databases Indian launch could be imminent

The Poco X4 made its debut not too long ago. Regardless, the company already seems to be working on its successor – the Poco X5 5G. Moreover, the handset was recently spotted on both the BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) and FCC (Federal Communications Commision) certification databases. This could mean that the Poco X5 5G’s launch in the Indian and US market is imminent since the handset reportedly got approval from the BIS and FCC.

The Poco X5 will be the first model in the Poco X5 series and will succeed the X4 series that included smartphones such as the Poco X4 GT and Poco X4 Pro 5G. The phone is expected to launch later this year along with other models in the X5 series. According to MySmartPrice, the Poco X5 5G appeared on the BIS and FCC databases with model numbers 2101320I and 22101320G respectively. The Indian variant of the Poco X5 5G is rumoured to have the model number 33101320I on the BIS website.

While the BIS listing did not reveal any details of the Poco X5, the FCC spotting suggests certain specifications of the device. Let’s find out the expected specifications of the Poco X5 5G that were spotted on the FCC listing and some rumoured specifications.

Poco X5 5G Expected Specifications and Availability

The FCC listing suggests that the upcoming Poco X5 5G will feature a rectangular camera module for its array of rear cameras. The device may run on MIUI 14 (possibly on top of Android 13) and is reported to support dual-band Wi-Fi connectivity. The new 5G device is expected to support 6 5G bands including n5, n7, n38, n41, n77, and n78. Furthermore, the device is reported to be powered by a 4,900 mAh battery, which could be marketed as a 5,000 mAh cell.

Other rumours and discussions surrounding the Poco X5 5G suggest that the phone will feature an IPS LCD panel with 120 Hz refresh rate support. It is also tipped that the phone will feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 778G+ SoC – a rather powerful mid-range SoC.

So far, no official announcements have been made by Poco about the imminent Indian launch of the Poco X5 5G, however, Poco India chief Himanshu Tandon did recently put out a tweet hinting at the launch of a new handset which could be the Poco X5 5G.

A #pocofan shared this with me. This is false, BTW  We have something better planned. Stay tuned  https://t.co/2I56TZXPWb
