Instagram outage: The Meta app was down again and users react with memes

Instagram was down for the second time in the last 4 days. It was a global outage and many users were reportedly affected by this. The Instagram feed, stories and messages section were not accessible. Here are user reactions and memes about it.

Instagram outage: What happened?

Meta spokesperson, Dave Arnold, in a statement to The Verge confirmed the Instagram outage, revealing, “We’re aware that some people are having trouble accessing Instagram. We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible and we apologize for any inconvenience.”

The issue seems to have been fixed at the time of writing this. However, earlier today, I was facing difficulty refreshing the feed, messages weren’t sending, Reels weren’t opening and some reactions weren’t also functioning. Many users across the world have come across similar problems.

The problem pertained to the app only, something which the Downdetector website also points out. The first reports of the outage apparently started appearing around 3:30 AM (IST) and there were about 1,75,000 reports at its peak.

So when something like this happens, you know where people rush to. Yes, Twitter!
