3 things to know about the newly launched Tecno Phantom V Fold

Introduced at MWC, Tecno Phantom V Fold is finally out as the company’s first-ever foldable smartphone. It is a full-size fold with a large battery, top-end MediaTek processor and a 50MP primary camera. 

Phantom V Fold is available on the Amazon website with an early bird offer from the 12th of April. Its prices were already announced and so let’s learn about its specifications.

Tecno Phantom V Fold’s introductory price with the early bird sale offer on Amazon India is ₹77,777, However, the base model with 12+256GBmemory costs ₹89,999 and the succeeding model costs ₹99,999 with 12+512GB memory. With this pricing, Tecno has created a new space for foldable phones in the Indian market compared to the high-range products in the category such as Galaxy Z Fold 4. 

Tecno Phantom V Fold: Design and display

The smartphone is available in two colours with different textures, Black and White, and shows feature similarities with Galaxy Z Fold 4. The Black model comes with a plastic fibre material while the White model has a silicon leather material. Both models are claimed to be ultra-light and renewable. 

The interesting element about the phone’s design is the hinge which is made with aerospace materials and is claimed to be tested for 200,000 folds and has less than 0.11mm screen crease.  

With a wide and ultra flat 7.85 inches full fold and 6.42 inches sub curved dual LTPO AMOLED screen, Tecno Phantom V Fold has a Corning Gorilla Glass cover. The phone consists of a display density of 388ppi, 2000 x 2296 pixels resolution, and a 10-120Hz adaptive refresh rate.

The Tecno Phantom V Fold flaunts three cameras on the rear side with a 50MP portrait lens, 13MP ultra-wide lens, and 50MP primary sensor, respectively. Meanwhile, the Tecno Phantom V Fold uses a 16MP camera and there’s a 32MP camera located on the outer display. The camera uses dual-LED flash, HDR and panorama, while the features for videography are 4K at 30fps and 1080p at 30/60fps.

The model utilises a 45W fast charging system for its non-removable Li-Polymer 5000mAh battery and operates on an octa-core MediaTek Dimensity 9000 + 5G for supporting internal functions. Moreover, Tecno has fitted the device with a Mali G-710 GPU and 8GB RAM to attain powerful visuals and efficient speed. The smartphone uses a custom HiOS adapted by Android 13 which has been custom-made for the foldable design.

For connectivity, Tecno Phantom V Fold features 5G, VolTE, 4G, Bluetooth v5.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, and A-GPS Glonass. The internal storage provided by the brand comes in two options of 12GB RAM, which is 256GB and 512GB, which is non-expandable.
