Jio 5G services in Assam inaugurated by Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma

Reliance Jio launched its True 5G services in Assam today. It was inaugurated by the state's Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma at an event held in Guwahati. Along with 5G service in the state, Jio also launched a Free Wifi service powered by True 5G for all devotees coming to the Maa Kamakhya Temple.

At the event, they even spoke about Revolutionary solutions such as the Jio Community Clinic medical kit, AR-VR-based healthcare with JioGlass, and Smart Healthcare Solutions like Tele Radiology, Connected Ambulances. Jio also promised to bring 5G across the northeastern state by the end of the year, December 2023.

Commenting on the new launch, a Jio Spokesperson informed, "With the blessings of Maa Kamakhya, Jio is launching True 5G services in Assam today. Jio will offer free True 5G-powered Wi-Fi inside the temple premises to all the devotees visiting Kamakhya temple."

Not just in Assam, Jio 5G was also launched in a few other states today as well. This includes 4 states, Karnataka (Hubli-Dharwad, Mangalore, Belgaum), Kerala (Chertala), Telangana (Warangal, Karimnagar) and Maharashtra (Solapur).

Starting today, Jio users in these cities will be invited to the Jio Welcome Offer. This will allow users to avail the benefits of 5G and they will be able to enjoy Unlimited Data at up to 1 Gbps+ speed. This will come bearing no extra costs with the Welcome Offer only.

Jio also revealed its standalone 5G recharge voucher recently which is worth ₹61 and can be purchased along with the users existing plan and will come with the same validity as the existing plan. This voucher offers 6GB of 5G data.

Jio 5G was launched in October last year. After the launch in Assam today, the telecom giant is now sharing its facilities in about 93 cities and towns in the country.

Facebook to shut down standalone gaming app in Oct

New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS) Meta is winding up its standalone Facebook Gaming app on both Android and iOS from October 28. The app will also be not available on Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Meta did not elaborate on why it is shuttering the standalone gaming app. "Despite this news, our mission to connect players, fans and creators with the games they love hasn't changed, and you'll still be able to find your games, streamers and groups when you visit Gaming in the Facebook app," reads a banner on its website. "We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you for everything that you've done to build a thriving community for gamers and fans since this app first launched," the notice added.
