The Xiaomi Mi Smart Speaker has officially launched in India with built-in Google Assistant for users to be able to control it via voice commands. The Mi Smart Speaker debuted alongside the Mi Smart Band 5 and Mi Watch Revolve during Xiaomi’s Smarter Living 2021 event, ear,ier today. 

The Mi  Smart Speaker is designed as a home speaker with a light ring at the top and is equipped with powerful front-firing drivers that provide a room-filling sound experience. Let’s take a look at the pricing, features and availability of the Mi Smart Speaker in India.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Speaker pricing and availability

Xiaomi Mi Smart Speaker is priced at Rs 3,499 and is available to purchase starting October 1 from Amazon India, Mi India store and Mi Home stores across India. It will be available in offline stores soon.

Xiaomi is also offering a 1-year free subscription to Gaana music streaming service on the purchase of Mi Smart Speaker.

Xiaomi Mi Smart Speaker launched in India

The Mi Smart Speaker features a metal design with a matte finish and a 0.7 millimetres mesh design that is capable of proving a room-filling sound. The mesh design consists of 10,531 holes that also ensure that the internals of the speaker remains dust-free.

It is equipped with a Texas Instrument sound processor with 12W speaker unit that powers 63.5 millimetres sound drivers for an immersive sound signature. The speakers have been tuned by DTS Professional for an enhanced audio experience with strong bass and clear vocals. The Mi Smart Speaker features Google Assistant so you can just start the speaker by saying “Ok Google” and proceed by giving it voice commands to play music, set reminders and more. 

The Mi Smart speaker is equipped with two far-field microphones and the top has control buttons for volume, play/pause and a dedicated microphone switch off button. The top of the speaker also has an RGB light ring that supports upto 16 million colours. It also comes with Chromecast built-in and two speaker units can be paired together for a stereo experience.

2020 iPhone could support time-of-flight 3D sensors: Report

While the 2019 iPhones are yet to be launched, the rumour mill is already churning out predictions for the 2020 iPhones. According to some reports, Apple is expected to release three new iPhones this year. As for 2020, the tech giant could supposedly incorporate time-of-flight (ToF) sensors in the future iPhones.
