Garena Free Fires new Fabled Foxes-themed Elite Pass to be available from June 1

Garena has announced that a new Elite Pass will be available for Free Fire players starting June 1, 2020. The new pass has a theme of Fabled Fox and features a “story of revenge as two gang leaders return to a home they were forced out of.” Rewards include unique themed skins and a motorbike.

“The Fabled Fox EP stars two protagonists: Ben and Zarya. Both grew up in the Salter District but were forced out as adolescents when the Smaki Gang took over. Their new home is controlled by the Vulpes, a far worse situation. Coerced to join the Vulpes and rise through the ranks in order to survive, a decade has passed and Ben and Zarya are now leaders. They decide now is the time to use their ferocity and cleverness to take back the Salter District from the Smaki Gang,” the developers note in the press note.

The rewards in this Elite Pass include Kitsune’s Riposte/Revenge skins. These are the male and female skins shown in the Fabled Fox key art. There is also the Fabled Foxes Rucksack, which is a new backpack skin that grants a special effect. There is also the Fabled Foxes Loot Crate what is a new loot crate that resembles the Fabled Foxes’ mask. There is also a new bike skin called the Fabled Foxes Motor Bike.

Garena notes that this EP was inspired by Japanese Mythology’s Inari Okami, the god of foxes. Based on this lore, the Fabled Fox skin set is themed like the animal and combines Japanese-style garments with contemporary streetwear.

Garena is also planning another major update for the game, which will bring back the Purgatory map along with a bunch of new features. That update is scheduled to be available from June 4 and you can learn more about that here.

What if a botched Google search card says you are a serial killer

Many of us have come to heavily rely on Google Search and often don’t question the veracity of information Google cherry-picks from the vast data available on the world wide web for its search cards. This incident, which is one part funny and two parts scary, makes it clear that Google’s Knowlege Graph may not be as sacrosanct as you may have believed.  Hristo Georgiev was informed by a former colleague that a Google search of his name returned a Google Knowlege Graph that depicted his photo and linked it to a Bulgarian rapist and serial killer of the same name, also known as ‘The Sadist’, who murdered five people back in the 1970s and was later executed by shooting.  The graph linked the info to a Wikipedia article, which incidentally had no link to any of Georgiev’s profile or his image. It was Google’s algorithms that erroneously matched the two. What’s even more problematic is that Hristo Georgiev is not a unique name and is shared by hundreds of other people.  As...
