Wait is finally over as Apple has just launched the most awaited smartphone series of the year, the iPhone 15 series.The new iPhone 15 lineup includes four smartphones: iPhone 15, iPhone 15 Plus, iPhone 15 Pro, and the high-end iPhone 15 Pro Max. Here you can check iPhone 15 lineup’s price, specifications, availability, design and more.

Apple iPhone 15 series: Price in India

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus models start at ₹79,900 and ₹89,900 respectively in India. Whereas, the iPhone 15 Pro has launched in India at a starting price of ₹1,34,900,  and the iPhone 15 Pro Max at a starting price of ₹1,59,900.

Apple iPhone 15 series: Specs

The iPhone 15 and the Plus varient come packed with the A16 Bionic chip, whereas, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max models are powered by the A17 Pro chip.

Talking about the display, the iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus both maintain the same display size as their predecessors. The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Pro come with a 6.1-inch display, while the Plus variant and Pro Max model feature a 6.7-inch screen.

Apple iPhone 15 series: Design

Apple's latest iPhone series boasts significant design enhancements, notably the introduction of the long-awaited USB Type-C port. In contrast, the iPhone 14 series featured a lightning port. The inclusion of the Type-C port has enabled the iPhone 15 series to deliver fast charging capabilities, a highly anticipated feature for users this year.

Meanwhile, the new Pro models feature a Titanium Frame this time, which gives the smartphones a very elegant look and better tensile strength, according to Apple. Along with that, a new customisable Action Button has been featured in the Pro models, where the mute slider was placed earlier in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. 

Apple iPhone 15 series: Features

The new iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus smartphones features a durable, colour-infused back glass and new contoured edge. Moreover, they feature the Dynamic Island, a way for users to interact with important alerts and Live Activities. Both devices offer peak HDR brightness of up to 1600 nits. Also, peak outdoor brightness reaches up to 2000 nits, twice as bright as the previous generation.

A new customisable Action Button has been featured in the new Pro models, where the mute slider was placed earlier in the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max. 

The new iPhone 15 lineup run on the latest iOS 17, It also features the second-generation Ultra Wideband chip, enabling two iPhone devices with this chip to connect at three times the range as before. This opens up a new way to use Precision Finding for Find My friends, so iPhone 15 users can share their location and find each other, even in crowds.

Apple iPhone 15 series: Camera

The iPhone 15 and iPhone 15 Plus house a 48MP Main camera for capturing fine details, with a quad-pixel sensor and 100 percent Focus Pixels for fast autofocus. The Main camera also provides users a new 24MP super-high-resolution default. Moreover, the additional 2x Telephoto option gives users three optical-quality zoom levels: 0.5x, 1x, 2x.

Talking about the Pro models, the iPhone 15 Pro model features a Telephoto sensor with 3x optical zoom, whereas, the Pro Max model also features a Telephoto sensor but with 5x optical zoom capabilities. Apart from that, both smartphones are equipped with a 48-megapixel primary camera and a 12-megapixel ultra-wide lens.  

Apple iPhone 15 series: Availability in India

The newly launched iPhone 15 series will be available for pre-orders from Friday. The new smartphones will be available for purchase on September 22.

2020 iPhone could support time-of-flight 3D sensors: Report

While the 2019 iPhones are yet to be launched, the rumour mill is already churning out predictions for the 2020 iPhones. According to some reports, Apple is expected to release three new iPhones this year. As for 2020, the tech giant could supposedly incorporate time-of-flight (ToF) sensors in the future iPhones. Additionally, Apple might also include 5G connectivity in next year’s iPhone models. Previously, a report speculated that Apple might introduce VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) ToF sensors on the rear of the 2020 iPhone models. The setup is similar to the TrueDepth camera setup found on the current iPhone models, but on the front. Ming Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst, has also predicted that Apple might bring ToF sensors to its 2020 iPhone lineup.
