Redmi Note 8 Pro, Redmi Note 8, Redmi 8 now available on open sale in India

The Redmi Note 8 lineup, as well as the Redmi 8, has gone on open sale in India. Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 will now be available to purchase 24x7 through the Amazon India website and Mi.com. On the other hand, Redmi 8 will be available through Flipkart and Mi.com. Till now, the three phones were available to purchase only through flash sales. However, they will now be available in an open sale manner, that means, buyers won't have to wait to purchase the phones online.

Redmi Note 8 Pro specifications

Redmi Note 8 Pro comes with a 6.53-inch FHD+ LCD display that has a waterdrop notch. The device also sports a curved Gorilla Glass 5 panel on the back. It also has built-in support for Amazon Alexa. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Helio G90T chipset. It comes in 6GB and 8GB RAM options. 

On the optics front,  Redmi Note 8 Pro sports a quad rear camera setup: a Samsung-developed 64MP sensor + an 8MP ultra-wide lens + a 2MP depth sensor + a 2MP macro lens. On the front lies a 20MP camera.

Redmi Note 8 Pro price in India

Redmi Note 8 Pro price in India starts at Rs 14,999 for the 6GB RAM + 64GB storage variant, whereas the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant is priced at Rs 15,999. Further, the top variant with 8GB RAM + 128GB storage is priced at Rs 17,999.

Redmi Note 8 Pro is available in Gamma Green, Halo White, and Shadow Black colour options.

The Redmi Note 8 comes equipped with a 6.3-inch FHD+ screen that has a dot drop notch. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 processor. The phone comes with 4GB and 6GB RAM, and up to 128GB of internal storage. It packs a 4000mAh battery with 18W fast charging support.

In the optics department, Redmi Note 8 sports a quad rear camera setup: a 48MP Samsung GM1 sensor with f/1.79 lens + an 8MP Ultra-Wide lens + a 2MP depth sensor + a 2MP Macro lens. It also has a 13MP selfie shooter. Redmi Note 8 comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, USB Type-C and a headphone jack.

Redmi Note 8 is available in Moonlight White, Neptune Blue, and Space Black colour options. The phone costs Rs 9,999 for the 4GB + 64GB variant and Rs 12,999 for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage model.

Redmi 8 features a 6.22-inch HD+ display that has a 720x1520 pixel resolution and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC and comes with up to 4GB RAM and up to 64GB of storage that can be expanded via a microSD card. 

On the optics front, Redmi 8 sports a dual rear camera setup: a 12 MP Sony IMX363 primary sensor + a 2MP depth sensor. On the front lies an 8MP selfie shooter. The rear camera has features like  AI Scene Detection and Google Lens support.

Redmi 8 packs a 5000mAh battery that supports 18 W fast charging. However, it will come bundled with a 10W charger in the box. It comes with a Type-C port for charing. The phone has a fingerprint sensor as well as a 3.5mm headphone jack.

The Redmi 8 is priced at Rs 7,999 for the base 3 GB RAM + 32 GB storage variant. The 4 GB RAM  + 64 GB internal storage variant will cost Rs 8,999.

2020 iPhone could support time-of-flight 3D sensors: Report

While the 2019 iPhones are yet to be launched, the rumour mill is already churning out predictions for the 2020 iPhones. According to some reports, Apple is expected to release three new iPhones this year. As for 2020, the tech giant could supposedly incorporate time-of-flight (ToF) sensors in the future iPhones.
