Realme X50 5G specs surface online ahead of January 7 launch

Realme is all set to launch its first 5G smartphone, the Realme X50 5G on January 7. However, more than one week before the official arrival of the handset, alleged specifications have surfaced online. Moreover, the leaked specification sheet lists three variants of Realme X50 5G alongside their price. The handset is claimed to deliver a two-day battery life on a single charge. 

The leak comes from a tipster on Weibo. Realme X50 5G is tipped to feature a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1080 x 2400 pixels) 2.5D curved display made by JDI with Gorilla Glass 5 protection. Further, the handset will feature a 3D curved glass design on the back that is said to be protected by Gorilla Glass 5. It is said to come with 90Hz display refresh rate. Realme X50 5G is confirmed to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC. It is said to come in two RAM variants, 6GB and 8GB and have up to 256GB storage onboard. 

On the optics front, Realme X50 5G will sport a quad rear camera setup: a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor + a 13MP telephoto lens with 5x hybrid zoom support + an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP macro camera. As per the leak, there is EIS onboard for stabilisation and negating hand movements. On the front could lie a dual 32MP + 8MP selfie shooter.

Realme X50 5G is likely to come equipped with a 4500mAh battery that is said to have support for 30W fast charging. The company has also said that all of the components inside the Realme X50 5G will be cooled by a “five-dimensional ice-cooled heat dissipation system.” According to the Realme, this system will cover 100 percent of all the heat-generating components. The cooling solution will also include an 8mm ultra-large liquid-cooled copper tube.

The leak also reveals that Realme X50 5G will come in three variants. It is said to be priced at CNY 2,199 (Rs 22,000 approx) for the base 6GB +128GB variant, CNY 2,499 (Rs 25,000 approx) for the 8GB + 128GB model and CNY 2,799 (Rs 28,000 approx) for the top-end 8GB + 256GB model. The smartphone will launch on January 7.

Facebook to shut down standalone gaming app in Oct

New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS) Meta is winding up its standalone Facebook Gaming app on both Android and iOS from October 28. The app will also be not available on Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Meta did not elaborate on why it is shuttering the standalone gaming app. "Despite this news, our mission to connect players, fans and creators with the games they love hasn't changed, and you'll still be able to find your games, streamers and groups when you visit Gaming in the Facebook app," reads a banner on its website. "We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to all of you for everything that you've done to build a thriving community for gamers and fans since this app first launched," the notice added. The app was launched in April 2020 to let users watch their favourite streamers, play instant games and take part in gaming groups.
