Mario Kart Tour makes its way to Android and iOS devices today

If you are a Nintendo fan but live in India where the Japanese company has little to no presence, then we’ve got some good news for you. After the release of Mario Run and Pokemon GO on mobile devices, Nintendo have once again surprised us all and dropped Mario Kart Tour on Android and iOS devices. The acclaimed Kart racer has finally made its way to mobile devices and you can download and play it right now.

First announced back in 2018, the free-to-play Kart racer has now been released for all mobile devices. Just a bit of a heads up though, as you’ll need a Nintendo account to play the game. The registration process isn’t too cumbersome so you’ll be able to jump right into the game. Once you’re done with the registration, you’ll get a random character to help you familiarize yourself to the controls. Unlike the Switch version, here you’ll be using the touch screen tom control your character. The basic, swipe left and right to change direction are both here while using items requires you to just tap the bottom of your screen. The controls are simple enough, but you may take time to get used to it if you’re a console player.

We downloaded the game on our office phone and played about a level or two. It isn’t a massive download either as it’s just under 130MB on Android devices. We were given the character of Peach and completed a few races with her. As we said before, it took us sometime to get used to the controls but once we got the hang of it, we were drifting our way to the finish line. And, although Mario Kart is a free game, you bet that they’ll be microtransactions tacked on.

So, if you’re down to race against the characters featured on all Mario games, head on over to the Google Play store and the Apple App store to download Mario Kart Tour.

According to some reports, Apple is expected to release three new iPhones this year. As for 2020, the tech giant could supposedly incorporate time-of-flight (ToF) sensors in the future iPhones. Additionally, Apple might also include 5G connectivity in next year’s iPhone models. Previously, a report speculated that Apple might introduce VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface-Emitting Laser) ToF sensors on the rear of the 2020 iPhone models. The setup is similar to the TrueDepth camera setup found on the current iPhone models, but on the front. In the latest research note shared by 9to5Mac, Kuo claims that at least two of the 2020 iPhone models could feature a ToF sensor on the rear.
