Redmi phone with pop-selfie camera teased officially

We are regularly witnessing the launch of phones with pop-up camera mechanisms, and it seems that Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi is also ready to jump on this bandwagon. The company has shared a video on Chinese social media platform Weibo teasing a phone with a pop-up selfie camera. The video shows scenes from the just-released Avengers: Endgame movie as well as of the other Xiaomi phones with an emphasis on speed and performance.

It is speculated that this could be a flagship device, which means that it will have top-of-the-line specs. This is in line with recent reports about a Redmi device with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 SoC in the making. It should be noted that the video does not reveal any information about the phone and any information about the phone in this story is on the basis of previous leaks and reports.

As far as the specs of the yet unidentified Redmi phone are concerned, based on the information shared by a Chinese tipster, the Redmi Snapdragon 855 phone will come with a 6.39-inch display and it’s processor is claimed to be accompanied by 8GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. In the camera department, the phone is tipped to come loaded with a 32MP shooter on the front and a triple-camera setup, including a 48MP camera, an 8MP secondary sensor and another 13MP camera on the back.

The existence of the phone is also proved by Redmi General Manager Lu Weibing and other Xiaomi executives, who have already revealed some details about this particular device. They reportedly said that this Redmi flagship device will feature a 3.5mm headphone jack and NFC. Further, Weibing had said that the phone is worth waiting for as it would offer a higher screen-to-body ratio, faster performance and better cameras.

It is also being claimed that Redmi is working to launch a device powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 processor. It is expected to come with a notch-less display, pop-up cameras on the front and a triple-camera setup on the back.

What if a botched Google search card says you are a serial killer

Many of us have come to heavily rely on Google Search and often don’t question the veracity of information Google cherry-picks from the vast data available on the world wide web for its search cards. This incident, which is one part funny and two parts scary, makes it clear that Google’s Knowlege Graph may not be as sacrosanct as you may have believed.  Hristo Georgiev was informed by a former colleague that a Google search of his name returned a Google Knowlege Graph that depicted his photo and linked it to a Bulgarian rapist and serial killer of the same name, also known as ‘The Sadist’, who murdered five people back in the 1970s and was later executed by shooting.  The graph linked the info to a Wikipedia article, which incidentally had no link to any of Georgiev’s profile or his image. It was Google’s algorithms that erroneously matched the two. What’s even more problematic is that Hristo Georgiev is not a unique name and is shared by hundreds of other people.  As...
