OnePlus 5, 5T receive OxygenOS 905 with April 2019 security patch

Sticking to its promise of timely updates and security patch rollout, OnePlus is currently rolling out OxygenOS 9.0.5 to the OnePlus 5 and 5T. Pushed out as an incremental update, version 9.0.5 of the Android 9 Pie-based OxygenOS brings with it a security patch updated to April 2019, stability improvements to the Phone app, and a few other changes. If you own a OnePlus 5 or 5T, you should get the new update anytime now. Don’t expect to see any new features though.

In a complete changelog of the update on the OnePlus Forum, OnePlus states that it has fixed an issue regarding the primary account in parallel apps and an issue surrounding downloading pictures in WhatsApp when used parallely. For those of you not in the know, parallel apps in OnePlus devices is a feature that lets you run two instances of any app at the same time. For example, users with two numbers can have separate WhatsApp accounts for each number.

OnePlus says it has also fixed a bug in the phones’ Gaming mode that didn’t let users receive third-party video calls. “As always, this OTA will be incremental. The OTA will reach a small percentage of users today, and we'll begin a broader rollout in a few days,” writes Manu J, Global Product Operations Manager for OnePlus on the OnePlus Forum. The update is 204MB in size.

A few days ago, OnePlus rolled out Android 9 Pie to OnePlus 3 and 3T devices in the form of a Community Beta Build. The two phones were promised Android 9 Pie a few days after Google announced it in August 2018. They currently run Android 8.0 Oreo and are yet to receive a stable version of the latest version of Android. OnePlus decided to skip the Android 8.1 Oreo update and head straight for the Pie. The OnePlus 5 and 5T, on the other hand, received their Pie update in early January.

You can see the Nothing brandng through the transparent part. Carl calls it "nice" and we agree. It does look nice but we are concerned whether it will be discoloured in time.  2.
