Government Axes Import Tax on Some Smartphone Parts in Boost to Apple, Xiaomi

Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman announced the removal of import duties on key mobile phone components in the annual budget, boosting local production and benefiting firms like Apple and Xiaomi. India's electronics production has more than doubled in six years, making the country the world's second-largest mobile phone manufacturer.
