PUBG: New State will get new weapons in its February update

PUBG: New State players will soon be able to get their hands on a new set of guns. The February update for the game adds a couple of new weapons as well as some changes to some guns which improves their usability. 

PUBG: New State - New weapons

PUBG: New State will get two new weapons. The first is the MP5K SMG that fires 9mm rounds. As with most SMGs, the weapon is best used in close-quarters situations. The gun can be equipped with any attachment and offers easy recoil control. The gun will spawn in Erangel, Troi and the Training Grounds. 

The second weapon is one that many BGMI/PUBG: Mobile players will be familiar with. The Crossbow is a completely silent weapon that deals high damage. However, players will be limited to one shot at a time and it features a relatively long reload time. However, players can cut down reload time by 25% by attaching the crossbow-specific attachment. The weapon will use Bolts as ammunition and these will spawn on the field and can be purchased from the Drone Store. The weapon will spawn in Troi, Erangel and Training Ground.  

PUBG: New State - Weapon-specific changes 

Players of the game will also see new gameplay options with two existing weapons, namely the DSR-1 sniper rifle and the M249 light machine gun. Snipers will now be able to use the DSR-1’s backup magazine, thereby reducing the gun’s reload time. Now, once players use all of the 5 bullets in the primary magazine, the backup 5 bullets can be quickly accessed. However, players will then have to reload both magazines. Tapping the reload button once will reload the main magazine while tapping a second time reloads the backup magazine. 

The M249 light machine gun gets a Bullet Shield customisation. This is an attachable shield that can block enemy fire and is impervious to damage. This gives an M249 player additional protection, which makes laying down suppressing fire much easier. However, it should be noted that with this attachment, ADS speed is slightly decreased.

Jio effect: Bharti Airtel may soon shut down 2G, 3G and shift on 4G-only network

Taking a cue from Reliance Jio which offers only 4G network, Bharti Airtel is looking to transform it current setup to become the second 4G-only network provider in India. According to the company’s Chief Executive, Gopal Vittal, Airtel is expediting steps to deploy the fourth generation airwaves in the 900 Mhz band, which are currently used only for 2G voice services, to 4G only. The Economic Times said that Airtel has 116 units of airwaves in the 900 MHz band across 16 circles. “We are seeing dramatic growth in 4G demand, and over a period of time, the 900 Mhz band will purely serve our 4G customers, while 2G services will be continue to be available on the 1800 Mhz band,” Vittal said, adding that the company will have “a transition strategy in place” in the run-up to deploying all its 900 MHz band spectrum for 4G services.
