The Amazon Prime Membership in India is about to get more expensive

Amazon has confirmed that the price for the Amazon Prime Membership in India will be increasing by up to 50%, which translates to roughly Rs 500 for the annual package. The rate hike will apply to all the different types of memberships the company offers. Amazon will continue to offer access to Prime Video, Amazon Music, Prime Reading, and Prime Gaming under the same membership package.

Amazon’s affordable pricing in India is what has helped the platform maintain an edge over Netflix. With other OTT platforms such as Disney+ Hotstar, Voot, Zee5 and others offering annual plans that don’t exceed Rs 999, Amazon may end up seeing a dip in their subscriber base. To combat this, the platform is probably working behind the scenes on increasing its content offerings. Hopefully, this means we’ll see a surge in content, and Family Man Season 3 launches sooner than later!

Facebook to shut down standalone gaming app in Oct

New Delhi, Aug 31 (IANS) Meta is winding up its standalone Facebook Gaming app on both Android and iOS from October 28. The app will also be not available on Google Play Store or Apple App Store. Meta did not elaborate on why it is shuttering the standalone gaming app. "Despite this news, our mission to connect players, fans and creators with the games they love hasn't changed, and you'll still be able to find your games, streamers and groups when you visit Gaming in the Facebook app," reads a banner on its website.
