Heres when your LG smartphone could get the Android 10 update

While LG isn’t known for updating its smartphones to newer versions regularly, LG Italy has revealed a list of smartphones that will be getting updated to Android 10. Brands like Samsung, Realme, Nokia and more have already revealed their Android 10 roadmap. Now, LG has revealed the detailed time frame of the Android 10 rollout for its smartphones. However, LG has already released the Android 10 update for its G8 ThinQ smartphone in some markets.

According to LG Italy, the company will be releasing the Android 10 update for the following smartphones - LG V50 ThinQ, LG V40 ThinQ, LG G8X ThinQ, LG G8s ThinQ, LG G7 ThinQ, LG K50S, LG K40S, LG Q60, and LG K50. The upcoming Android 10 update will include LG UX 9.0. For reference, LG G8X already runs on LG UX 9.0.

The LG V50 ThinQ will be the first to get updated to Android 10 in early February. It will be followed by the LG G8X ThinQ in Q2. LG G7 ThinQ, LG G8s ThinQ, and LG V40 ThinQ in the third quarter of 2020. That said, the LG K50S, LG K40S, LG K50, and LG Q60 will be updated to the latest version of Android in the fourth quarter of 2020.

It must be noted that the roadmap comes from LG’s Italy website, so the time frame may not be valid globally. However, it still gives some idea of when we can expect these updates.
