The Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G debuting on an upcoming POCO smartphone is nearly identical to its predecessor

Qualcomm has announced the new Snapdragon 732G for its mid-range 7-series family of mobile chipsets. Going by the name, the Snapdragon 732G seems like an immediate successor to the Snapdragon 730G that has powered quite a few smartphones in India like the Realme X2, Poco X2 and the Samsung Galaxy A80. The Snapdragon 732G will also operate in the same segment, unlike the Snapdragon 765 SoC which is meant for high-end smartphones. Qualcomm also confirmed that the Snapdragon 732G will debut on an upcoming POCO smartphone. Leak doing the rounds in the industry points to the Poco X3, and it sounds perfectly logical considering the previous Poco X2 (review) tasted good success by bringing the Snapdragon 730G at its affordable most price point in the beginning of 2020. Debuting on the POCO X3? "Since inception, POCO has been all about listening to user feedback and delivering exactly what they need,” said Manmohan Chandolu, General Manager, POCO India. “We’re thrilled to be working onc

Former OnePlus employee reveals company is actively looking to launch a smartwatch

OnePlus could be on the road to launch its first smartwatch very soon. A report recently surfaced that reveals a listing on Indonesia's IMDA (Infocomm Media Development Authority) certification site. Now, a new report quoting a former OnePlus employee confirms that the company has "actively been looking into a smartwatch for the last year."  Rumours suggest that the watch could be called the "OnePlus Watch". The listing carries the model number W201GB, which is, unfortunately, the only detail we have on the smartwatch. But its appearance on the list hints that the company might launch it alongside the OnePlus 8T.  As spotted by 91Mobiles, the listing reveals that the "OnePlus Watch" is a 'low-power, short-range device' and description says it is a 'wearable watch'. Adding to the report, TechRadar exclusively learned from a former OnePlus employee that the company is considering a smartwatch for a while.   It's not the first time

PUBG Mobile will soon introduce Video Review Station to combat hackers

PUBG Mobile developers have announced that they will be adding a new feature to combat hackers and cheaters that have infiltrated the game. According to a post on Reddit, the developers will be introducing The Video Review Station. Unlike most anti-cheat systems, which rely on the developers to find and identify cheaters, the new system will add the PUBG Mobile community in the mix. The developers notes that the system is quite similar to the one used by other competitive games like League of Legends and Counter Strike: Global  How this will work is that when a player is reported for suspicious activity in a game, a battle replay video is generated from the suspicious player’s perspective. This video will then be distributed randomly to multiple player investigators who will then analyze the video. If a majority of the investigators confirm that the video contains a violation, it will be sent to the official PUBG Mobile team for review, who will then proceed to take necessary action.

Theres now concrete evidence of a OnePlus smartwatch in the making

Android-based smartwatches are nothing new, and there have been a spur of new launches this year including the new Oppo Watch. Now Oppo’s sibling OnePlus has also been linked to a smartwatch for years, and it looks like its ready. A device called ‘OnePlus Watch’ recently appeared on the website of Indonesia’s regulatory body, as per a report by 91Mobiles. As the name suggests, the device is a wearable with the model name W301GB. Nothing more is specified in the listing though. But most likely, the watch will run on Google’s WearOS platform and feature a Snapdragon Wear chip. OnePlus had actually confirmed it’s working on a smartwatch back in 2016, but at that time CEO Pete Lau had said the design was completed, but it wasn’t quite ready, and had to be scrapped for the time being. It looks like OnePlus did get the inspiration it needed to nail the final version, four years later. It’s also the right time for the company to launch a smartwatch after it diversified the portfolio with t

Xiaomi will be ready with its under-display camera tech by 2021: Heres how it works

Xiaomi has announced a breakthrough in its under-display camera technology and has officially revealed the third-generation under-screen camera technology. Xiaomi isn’t the first company to reveal its in-display camera tech as ZTE has already announced the launch of the ZTE Axon 20 5G on September 1. In-display cameras are the next big thing to look out for in smartphone development. For a while, different smartphone manufacturers have found it increasingly hard to minimise the bezels while retaining the selfie camera upfront. This birthed the concept of differently sized notch cutouts which is like a way around and not entirely an innovative feature. Xiaomi President Shou Zi Chew posted a video on Twitter, showing off the company’s new third-generation in-display camera system that seems to be fitted in a modified Mi 10 Ultra.  We’re proud to present the latest masterpiece from our Xiaomi engineers: 3rd Generation Under-Display Camera Technology! OnePlus Nord users facing Bluetooth connectivity issues

The OnePlus Nord (review) is easily the most hyped smartphone of 2020. The anticipated reached its peak just before its launch, and in nearly every review, the smartphone has been hailed to be one that just works. Yet, despite the team working on the product for more than a year, the OnePlus Nord also received five software updates within one month of its launch for bug fixes. That certainly erodes away the confidence, and indicates OnePlus may not have tested every aspect of the smartphone before releasing it to the public. The belief grew stronger after complaints of display tinting flooded the internet right after the first sale happened. Users complained of the display showing a green tint at low brightness, while YouTubers like JerryRigEverything criticised the smartphone for its plastic frame. And like most other OnePlus smartphones, Nord’s issues keep cropping up. Nord users have taken to Reddit and the OnePlus Community, complaining of Bluetooth connectivity issues. The smart

Canon EOS R5 receives first firmware update since launch

Canon released the EOS R5 and EOS R6 earlier last month. The two cameras are primed for photo and video shooters alike, but the two cameras haven’t had the smoothest of launch. Various issues have been reported by early adopters of the EOS R5 and EOS R6, with heating issues being one of the most widely reported ones. Today, Canon has released a firmware update for the EOS R5 that seeks to resolve some early teething issues. Firmware 1.1.0 for the Canon EOS R5 brings a number of fixes for the camera, the most notable one being related to heating. The new firmware will no longer disable the overheat control function when shooting with an external monitor or recorder. Overheat control’s primary job is to automatically adjust the frame rates and movie size while the camera is in standby in order to prevent any more heat build-up. This allows the camera to shoot longer, but the issue is adjusted frame rates, which might not be ideal for some, especially seeing how the EOS R5 shoots 8K Vide
